to the power of God’s presence in our midst.
All: We have come to offer up the seasons
and the turnings in our lives,
and to ask God’s help in our learning and in our growing.

WE HEAR GOD’S WORD
PRAYER OF APPROACH AND ILLUMINATION (unison)
Our hope is in you alone Eternal God. In our actions of presenting ourselves here today, we show that we are seeking your face, your Word and your Glory. In the reading of the scriptures, may our hearts be moved so that we act and live accordingly. May your word never depart from us so that we stay faithful in your love. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

NEW TESTAMENT Matthew 10:24-39
REFLECTION “Threatened Promises”
PRAYER OF RESTORATION (unison)
Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear, and what has become for us a consuming fire of judgment. Set us free from a past that we cannot change; open to us a future in which we can be changed; and grant us grace to grow more and more in your likeness and image. Amen.
